In the opening match of day 2 at SLTV StarSeries XIII Finals FlipSid3 have stunned EnVyUs with a 16-14 comeback win on Inferno. After getting upset in the opening match yesterday, EnVyUs once again fell to an underdog to begin day two. FlipSid3 started on the T side of Inferno, but after getting the pistol round and the usual 3-0 advantage that follows, the Ukrainians fell back 4-8. They ended the first half on a high note though, trailing only by one round 7-8, but the Frenchmen were quickly far ahead once again 13-7.
A few good rounds sparked the local team to start a comeback, and despite dropping a round after 10-13, FlipSid3 won the last 6 to close the match out 16-14. The team's 17 year old star Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev once again led the charts with 28 kills and an instrumental role in the late comeback, scoring at least 1 kill in each of the final six rounds (9 total). Georgi "WorldEdit" Yaskin also contributed a lot in that period with 7 kills. SLTV StarSeries XIII FinalsBest of 1
EnVyUs' spot in the playoffs is now in danger, as they sit in 5th place with 3 points after 3 matches. They still have a chance to go through though, with matches against Gamers2 and Na`Vi left to play today. FlipSid3 clinched their 6th point with this win and are now one of the four teams sharing the first place in the group standings. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
